Is possible but not good, soft foods, fish, mashed potatoes, cut solids in small pieces or blender, it soon gets tiresome. Implants costly but worth it.

Describe what it was like for you to wear dentures, without implants:
Impossible to eat a proper diet with raw fruits and vegetables. When I did, I had a “raw” mouth (sores on my gums). I only removed them to clean them.

The doctor was wonderful and the pain level was what you would expect. The medication worked well.

The most wonderful change is the ability to eat fresh fruits and vegetables. The first since I was 15. I’m not a big “red meat” person but yes, I can eat steak also. If insurance would help us, I’d have the upper jaw done ASAP.

Never fitted right. Had to use Denture Adhesive Powder to keep my dentures tight, but never was comfortable.

No. When I woke up I thought the doctor was just going to start the surgery. It was hard for me to believe the surgery was done already.

My implants are giving me confidence to smile with very nice and white teeth. I can eat corn off of the corncob. Eat an apple without
cutting it up in small pieces. All and all I do not feel, I have dentures in my mouth. I feel I have my own natural teeth.

My lower jaw was always sore I could not get dentures to fit properly because of the loss of jaw bone. I only ate foods that were easy to chew. I had to cut up fruits in to small pieces in order to eat them

I was losing bone structure- your jaw line recedes and the bottom dentures just floats, collecting your food under it.

Describe what it was like for you to wear dentures, without implants:
Uncomfortable and embarrassing. The partials would slip and fall out. Occasional they would break and have to be repaired or replaced. It was painful when they went out of alignment. Self-esteem suffered dramatically.

No. I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of pain or discomfort.

Initially I was skeptical that the implants would feel like natural teeth. I was very wrong. I am now able to eat foods I haven’t in years and do so without pain. Most importantly, I have learned to smile. I feel better about myself and more confident. Smiling is essential in how you feel and act.

Absolutely

I would encourage them to not hesitate and move forward. Implants take slightly longer to get but are more than worth the added time. Implants have a definite positively impact on ones overall quality of life. They’re fabulous!
